Additional bills of interest to public water supply systems have been introduced.
HB 2549 (all 50 pages of it) is an extensive rewrite of present sales tax exemptions. This bill provides for the application of sales taxes on residential water sales.
SB 530 is a companion bill concerning elimination of sales tax exemptions.
SB 496 concerns charges allowable for reinstatement of membership (a benefit unit) due to forfeiture because of non-payment. If this bill comes up for hearing, KRWA plans to be in support.
HB 2115 is similar to SB 58 in that it would eliminate Tier III membership in Kansas One Call.
HB 2240 is also similar to SB 58; that eliminates Tier III membership in Kansas One Call.

As previously mentioned, the Kansas Rural Water Association commented at a hearing on sub SB 58 on Thursday, January 28 in the House Energy and Utilities Committee.
