Current Projects: Special focus to reduce water loss

The Kansas Rural Water Association provides targeted assistance to public water systems identified by the Kansas Water Office as having high unaccounted for (>30%) water loss. These systems are referred to as "Special Focus Projects." Beginning July 1, 2007, KRWA has also been requested to help systems having a 0% or negative water loss. Check below for a brief report on the work by KRWA with the systems assigned to KRWA under the 08 contract. Funding for this assistance is provided through the Clean Drinking Water Fee, and administered by the Kansas Water Office. This report is for the period April 1 to June 30, 2008.

The city has since replaced those meters and made sure the meters are installed correctly. Also during the visit Amy and Nikki were going to review the 2008 sold information to verify accuracy. KRWA Tech Greg Duryea has another on-site visit scheduled for the last week of July to obtain information.
